AVAGO's Ultra Low Noise GaAs Amplifier serie MGA-633P8

Avago Technologies' MGA-633P8 is the latest addition to the family of ultra low noise, high gain, high linearity Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) Active Bias Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA). Leveraging Avagos proprietary 0.25um GaAs Enhancement-mode pHEMT process, the device achieves Best in Class NF (0.38dB @ 900MHz) performance and is designed to be used as first stage LNA within cellular base station transceiver radio cards, tower mounted amplifiers (TMA), combiners, repeaters and remote/digital radio heads.
The MGA-633P8 is an Active Bias LNA which operates from 450MHz to 1500MHz. Additional products will be released later in the year that support frequencies within all major cellular bands: GSM, CDMA, UMTS and the next generation LTE (700MHz band in North America and 2.5GHz band in Europe and Asia). Since all of the devices will share a common footprint, pin-out, and external matching network, they provide a common PCB design to customers when used at different frequencies and therefore simplifying the PCB layout.
MGA-633P8 is housed in a miniature 2.0 x 2.0 x 0.85 mm surface mount 8-lead QFN package.
Target markets/segments are Wireless Infrastructure (LTE, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, WiMAX and etc
), and other wireless systems from 400-1500MHz that requires Ultra low NF and high linearity LNA.

Avago: New Performance InGaP HBTGain Block

Economical, Easy to Use InGaP HBT Gain Block Amplifiers Ideal for WiMAX,
Wireless Base Stations, Satellite TV, and Set-Top Boxes
Avago Technologies, a leading supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications, today announced two new economical, easy to use general purpose InGaP Hetero-Junction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) MMIC gain block amplifiers for use in a variety of wireless applications. Avagos AVT-51663/53663 gain blocks, which operate within the DC to 6000MHz frequency band, can be used as either a broadband gain block or driver amplifier. These gain blocks target designers of cellular infrastructure applications, but can be also be used in a variety of other wireless applications such as Base Stations, WiMAX, WLAN, CATV, Satellite TV and set-top boxes.
Avago's AVT-51663/53663 gain block amplifiers, which are internally matched to 50-Ohms, were designed in Darlington configuration housed in an industry standard six-lead SOT-363 surface mount plastic package. The Darlington feedback structure provides inherent broad bandwidth performance resulting in a useful operating
frequency range of up to 6 GHz making the AVT-51663/53663 ideal for small-signal gain cascades or IF amplification. Moreover, these new gain blocks feature easy installation and only require DC blocking capacitors, RF choke, biasing resistors and bypass capacitors for operation. Additionally, no additional RF matching components are required to achieve broadband performance.
These new gain block amplifiers were developed using advanced InGaP HBT technology that offers state-of-the-art reliability, temperature stability and consistent performance. At a typical operating condition of 5V and 37mA, the AVT-51663 delivers performance of 19.0dB gain, 24dBm Output Third Order Intercept Point (OIP3) and 12.5dBm Output Power at 1dB Gain Compression (P1dBm) and 3.2dBm noise figure at 2000MHz. The AVT-53663 operates at 5V and 48mA to deliver a performance of 19.5dB Gain, 5dBm OIP3, 15dBm P1dB and 3.2dB noise figure at 2000MHz.

BFi OPTiLAS to Market, Sell, and Support E-Bands GigE Broadband Wireless Products
BFi OPTiLAS, a value-added pan-European distributor with headquarters in Evry, France, today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with E-Band Communications Corp., a leading developer of multi-gigabit capacity wireless communication systems based on 70/80GHz millimeter wave radio technology. BFi OPTiLAS will market E-Band Communications line of Gigabit Ethernet wireless products throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
"E-Band has the highest performance 70/80GHz GigE product on the market, with GigE all the time and a 10dB larger link budget than the nearest competitor," said Ernesto Prestifilippo, Business Development Director of BFi OPTiLAS Communications business unit. "Our channel partners are looking for the best wireless products available, and E-Bands GigE all the time and low latency certainly meets that requirement."
E-Bands technology provides solutions for interconnection and backhaul of 4G, WiMAX, LTE, and other mobile networks as well as Gigabit Ethernet last mile access, fibre backup, and network extension applications.
E-Bands Layer-1 system fits easily into existing networks because E-Link acts more like a piece of fibre than a complicated network element. This allows the end customer to have a common network architecture whether they are using their own fiber, someone elses dark fiber or E-Bands GigE wireless links. This approach also allows for quick and easy installation into any existing network, which makes this product highly suitable for emergency and disaster recovery applications.
"BFi OPTiLAS has a proven ability to expand the GigE wireless market throughout the UK and Europe" said Kirk Byles, Vice President of Global Sales at E-Band. "Their focus on providing the right wireless product coupled with in-house design services and a history of providing outstanding pre-sales and post-sales support represents considerable value to E-Band as we welcome BFi OPTiLAS to be part of our team."
